Who We Are We are a group of more than 360 (and counting) Yorktown residents dedicated to the creation of an off-leash Dog Park in Yorktown, NY. Visit our facebook group "Yorktown Community Dog Park" to talk other members and share photos!
What the status?
The French Hill section of Trump State Park waschosen by the Town Board. Now there are "unforeseen issues!" Check out the "News" page for more info.
Call to Action:
What should you do? First, check out this video of the January 5, 2010 Town Board meeting. Can you guess which board member said "We are going to do it. Do it fast!" or which said, "It's comming" or maybe "We are going to have a dog party!" Its all there. Yet, its April now...and nothing has changed. See the "News" page for more details.
Tell newly-elected and exisiting town officials that making the Yorktown Community Dog Park a reality is one of your priorities and should be one of theirs, too. Tell them that you've waited too long and that you want your Dog Park now! Call and email these officials today and tell them that a dog park is an asset to the town that will:
1) Promote a greater sense of community.
2) Improve the health and well-being of dogs and families.
3) Attract new residents, visitors, and business to Yorktown.
4) Preserve a historical tract of land.
5) Conserve green space.
Volunteer--attend our meetings the last Tuesday of every month at Grace Lutheran church to get involved! See "News" page for more info. Also, while you are here, "register" on this site for FREE. Your registration will enable us to prove to the Yorktown government just how important a Dog Park is to our community!
